Common questions

Have a question we haven't answered? Email founder@tryescalate.com.

What data does Escalate access?

Slack message metadata (timestamps, channel ids, author ids) for the deal channels Escalate creates. CRM deal records (Salesforce or HubSpot) via OAuth. No buyer-side data, no DM scraping, no access to channels Escalate didn't create or wasn't explicitly invited to.

How does cancellation work?

Cancel any time via the Stripe Customer Portal. You stay active through the end of the current billing period, then move to a 30-day read-only grace window where the audit log remains exportable. Scheduled deletion happens at the end of grace; mid-period refunds are not available.

What does my IT team need to do?

Install the Slack app (founder-CTO can self-install — no tenant admin approval required). Connect Salesforce or HubSpot via OAuth (self-installable scopes). No on-prem connectors, no SCIM provisioning, no IT review window.

How long does setup take?

Under 30 minutes for the typical founder-CTO: ~5 min Slack install, ~10 min CRM OAuth, ~10 min wizard to confirm trigger conditions + sub-thread role mapping. Zero implementation calls. See the full setup guides for per-integration walk-throughs and troubleshooting.

How accurate are the alerts?

We ship with calibration on YOUR deals; target ≥80% alert precision rolling 30-day. The portal's trailing-precision view shows how the classifier is performing on your specific corpus. If precision drops below 60%, we fine-tune or pivot architecture.

Where does my data live?

US only in V1. Supabase Postgres (us-east-2) for state + audit log; Fly.io (us-east-1) for compute. Data does not leave US infrastructure. EU residency is a V2 question contingent on first European customer.

What Slack and CRM permissions does Escalate request?

Slack bot scopes (see /docs/setup/slack for the full per-step breakdown):

  • channels:manage (auto-create deal channels)
  • channels:read + im:history (detect sub-thread stalls for alerts)
  • chat:write (post alerts + digest)
  • users:read.email (resolve role-mapped owners)

CRM OAuth scopes (see per-integration scope list at /docs):

  • Salesforce: api, refresh_token, Deal.Read, Account.Read, Opportunity.Read
  • HubSpot: crm.objects.deals.read + crm.objects.contacts.read
What about SOC 2 / compliance?

SOC 2 Type II is in progress (target audit window: H2 2026). A DPA is available at /legal/dpa; per-row audit chain (MOAT-B1) is shipped and exportable. For procurement deep-dives, the founder is available via Calendly.
